Abstract:

At the meeting of the UN General Assembly from 14 to 16 September, the international community will assess progress towards achieving the Millennium Goals. Have the EU and its member states aligned their development programmes towards the Millennium Development Goals? What further measures are required? Is the European contribution an effective complement to the efforts of other multilateral donors? Did the EU take a leading role in favour of the development countries at this conference?
Launched in April 2004 by four Bonn-located institutions, the conference series "Bonner Impulse" wants to discuss important issues of European development co-operation. The "Bonner Impulse" are the German contribution to the Europe-wide EDC to 2010 project.
