|Teilnahme-Vorraussetzungen||The Master's programme in European Communication Studies seeks students with a Bachelor or equivalent degree in Media and Communication Studies, or in a related field such as Journalism, Public Relations or Film and Television Studies. Ideally, applicants will also have sufficient knowledge of research methodology, but this is not an absolute prerequisite for admission.|
All non-native speakers of English (including Dutch students) applying to one of the English-taught programmes offered by the Graduate School of Social Sciences, are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
Students with good undergraduate qualifications in related disciplines but who lack sufficient knowledge of Communication Studies and/or Research Methodology may still be admitted, provided they complete the special Preparatory Programme (30 ECTS credits), or an intensive introduction course to Research Methodology (10 ECTS credits), or pass an exam in communication theory (10 ECTS credits) prior to enrolment in the Master's programme. Admission is highly competitive and is based on the student's overall academic record, relevant job experience and motivation.
Students with undergraduate qualifications in non-related disciplines and no relevant job experience or with insufficient academic experience will first need to complete a relevant Bachelor's degree before applying for admission to the Master's programme.
